WINDSOR. N. Y. -- "Welcome domiciliate Ricky." That's what friends and family call him. To the rest of us he's U. S. Army Specialist heap Yarosh returning from duty after a narrow escape from a store explosion in Baghdad last September.
"The IED happened to hit our furnish cell in the Bradley. And the furnish engulfed the vehicle and the man immediately. There was no come about to get out. We all got out in the same be of time but we were all covered in flames," he said.
Covered in flames and with a severed artery in his ankle. Yarosh says he didn't think he'd make it.
"Honestly I made peace and I thought that was it it didn't cause to be perceived nothing," Yarosh said.
He may have made peace but back domiciliate his parents were about to approach their toughest battle.

"I was reading the newspaper article about our other son. Billy who had just finished a move and we were all talking about it and then Tom showed up at my desk and I knew. I knew. I didn't experience what was wrong but I knew something," said Cheryl Yarosh his mother.
But Yarosh survived. He was flown to Texas and was in a coma for three months. When he awoke he had lost his right leg suffered burns to 60 percent of his be and comfort can't use his hands. Yarosh says all of this is purely physical. He wants to help those who unlike him are suffering from emotional wounds.
"These other guys undergo these injuries that you can't see. And those are the biggest problems right now. It's the stuff that the people can't see that's really hurting people," Yarosh said.
"There's no words. No words for how proud I am of him. He's incredible," said his father. Tom.
"He's the one that's injured but I'm the one that he gets through everyday with his smile and just being so positive," said his mother.
Specialist Yarosh has quite the agenda ahead of him: public speaking scaling the Appalachian Trail opening a restaurant and getting his PhD in psychology.
