"Turning around the rotting capital" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-12 14:58:34

Rudy is going up with a new ad. "Challenges," in all the media markets that reach into New Hampshire. Striking to me was the last portion. Giuliani has oft talked about his record of turning around the Rotting Apple but has not so explicitly made the obvious connection that Washington is in such a parlous state as Dinkins-era NYC and needs to be Rudyized. Of all the top candidates. Hizzoner has been most hesitant to run against President Bush or even his own wayward party. This is in part because he's viewed with some suspicion by the GOP base because of his abortion views and does not want to exacerbate perceptions of unorthodoxy. Rather he's taken the toughest shots at Democrats and on everything besides social issues sought to get further to the right than any of his rivals. Is this new spot an indication that he's now willing to do what almost every nonaffiliated Republican strategist thinks is a necessity and triangulate against both Washington Dems and GOP-ers? Which one of these low life Republicans will be the next to prove the GOPig Organized Crime Wave in America has just begun to surface?Guiliani the Gambino Crime Family Associate and Architect of the WTC Tower's Collapse. Hal Daub former Bush Administration serial rapist now a pariah in politics and running for his life from his former victims including an Omaha. NE police officer?Fred Thompson the cocaine dealing Hollywood actor playing Senator in Tennessee while jet setting with the underbelly of narcotics trafficking?Maybe George W. Bush himself? The man who laid into Democrats and signed on to impeaching Bill Clinton for lying about a consensual sex act under oath is now himself President and facing conspiracy and obstruction charges for allegedly intentionally protecting serial rapist Hal Daub from justice in Omaha?Sounds like grounds for impeachment to me?Just pick a Republican. ANY Republican and you found yourself a low life criminal. Myra- you mistake social values for policy. If he is personally against abortion and for adoptions- and has a record which shows this is the case- how is that any different from the actual ability of ANY President?! If Rudy appoints men like Scalia. Thomas. Alito and Roberts as he most assuredly will (he has Ted Olson making the picks) then in reality what is the difference between a Giuliani presidency and a Thompson administration when it comes to social issues?! Remember a President has very little control of social issues- else after Reagan. Bush and Bush things would be different already no? As I've said before. Rudy takes more credit for NYC then he deserves amd his "style" (I consider it his abuse) of executive governance is NOT what this country needs right now. Rudy would NOT clean up Washington in most of the areas it most desperately needs it. Cronyism abuse of executive power partisan hacking overly powerful special interests disrespect for the Constituation and for the American people... Giuliani won't even pay lip service to solving some of those issues to say nothing of actually dealing with them. If people are willing to vote for some misdirected desire for "strong leadership" at the cost of integrity proper Constitutional government and cooperation then our country is headed for more trouble. And with Clinton leading on the left and Giuliani leading on the right this is what seems to be happening. Philly: Giuliani goes past being a "tought guy" and goes straignt into being an abusive guy a guy above the law a guy who not only doesn't care about dissent but actively suppresses it. Further if you think he is so tough on spending you should research his second term a little bit. I do give him some credit for bringing NYC's spending a little more under control but he is not against spending either. And further that is a poor indicator of what he will do as Prez what with all his war rhetoric. Wars cost lots and lots of money. I'm not at all sure that a president and his wife don't have an influence on social issues. The President of the United States represents each and every one of us to every other nation in the world. They should take that seriously and present the best possible face to the world. A three times married public adulterer is probably not the face I want presented to the world just for starters. If you believe that a very liberal man serving as president is going to appoint very conservative judges to the Supreme Court then good for you. I think he probably has a bridge somewhere for sale too. Liberal President doesn't equal Conservative Judges to me no matter what his mouth is saying.

The exhibition on at London’s which features the work of influential Pop artists such as Larry Poons. Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol says a lot about the contemporary fixation with procure. Apparently they cut up magazines copied comic books drew trademarked cartoon characters like Minnie Mouse reproduced covers from Time magazine made ironic use of a cartoon Charles Atlas painted over iconic photos of James Dean and Elvis Presley - and that’s just in the first of seven rooms. Certainly no money changed hands (though I query what the determine of the publicity created by Warhol would be worth?) and I’m not change surface sure Warhol asked to use the now iconic soup can image. [They] created these images by nicking the work of others without permission and transforming it to make statements and create emotions never countenanced by the original creators. Despite the flagrant disregard for procure the works on display be exhibition organisers ironically are not allowing any photos to be taken. The ban on pictures is meant to protect the copyright of the works hung on the walls - a fact that every member of cater I asked instantly confirmed. Posted on 2007-11-29 22:44:01

St lucie county is a step closer to turning your cast aside into electricity. Crews are building a lay called "Geo Plasma Arc Technology". It sounds like a science fiction novel but it's actually quite real. What happens is your trash will be zapped with a plasma lightning arc making it into little rocks that can be used to build roads. The lightning arc creates a massive touch that will burn and create power-- it's a win-win plan for garbage disposal. Commissioners say the new lay will also cut harmful emissions from the landfill in half. Organizers wish to have the new plant up and running by fall of 2008. Please follow and enforce these guidelines:1. No flaming. Do not be hostile.2. No comments that are obscene vulgar lewd sexually-oriented threatening libelous or illegal.3. No racial slurs or insults.4. "Remove Comment" flags offensive mention for removal.
